Email Setup in Mac Mail

To set up your TPG email address in Mac Mail (Version 14), simply follow the steps below.

1. Open Mac Mail.

2. Click Mail in the top menu bar, and then select Accounts.

   

3. In the right-hand column, select Add Other Account....  

   

4. Select Mail account.  

   

5. Enter the following details before clicking Sign In:

   Name: Your name as you’d like it to appear on the emails that you send.
   Email address: Your TPG email address
   Password: Your TPG email address password

   

6. Mail will attempt to automatically discover the settings for your email address.

7. If any kind of error occurs, enter the following settings before clicking Sign In.

   Email address: Your TPG email address
   User Name:  Leave as "Automatic"
   Password: Your TPG email address password
   
   Account Type: POP
   Incoming Mail Server: mail.tpg.com.au
   Outgoing Mail Server: mail.tpg.com.au

   

8. Confirm the Description and Name you wish to send from (EG Your Name).

   

9. Close the Accounts window to finish.

10. Send a test email to and from your TPG email address to confirm it is working.

11. If you have any trouble, you may need to check your some settings. Click Mail in the top menu bar and then select Preferences.

    

12. In the popup window, click the Accounts tab and select your email address from the left-hand column. First of all, make sure Enable this account is ticked. You may also wish to check that all your other details were entered correctly when you set up the mailbox.  

    

13. Next, click the Server Settings tab.

14. Untick Automatically manage connection port settings for both your Incoming and Outgoing mail server, then enter the following settings:
     
    Incoming Port: 995
    Use SSL: Ticked
    Authentication: Password
    
    Outgoing Port: 465
    Use SSL: Ticked
    Authentication: Password

15. Click Save.

    

16. Close the Preferences window and check your inbox again.
    
    Note: If you see a pop-up advising “Mail can’t verify the identity of the server “mail.tpg.com.au”, select “Always trust “*.tpg.com.au” when connecting to “mail.tpg.com.au”, then Continue.
